It feels so good to be back. How I've missed mountain biking.
Trying to find local trails in the city is tough. Luckily this was only a 15 minute street ride from home.
I rode 6 miles today. It's not a lot, but I'm getting back into it slowly.

The final piece to the puzzle! A new green safety lamp. Before it was flickering out and very dim! So excited about how this project turned out. Now I have to take on the surprisingly complex challenge of learning to make drinks consistently!
Maybe I'll bring it to a con one day. 👀

Espresso machine update: It brewed espresso! With crema! After fixing countless issues the espresso machine now seems to be working as it is supposed to! So many hours were spent on this thing, and now the work has paid off!

I noticed my car paint was starting to oxidize. I take pride in driving a 20+ year old car that looks almost pristine so I was pretty bummed. I bought a buffer and some polishing compound to try and bring it back. Just look at the difference! I'm shocked! Keep in mind it looked worse in person.

The espresso machine still isn't working. I determined that power was being sent to the heating element by disconnecting the positive lead from and probing it with a multimeter. With the element plugged in, the safety relay isn't allowing it to heat. The new heating element is on the way!

Well... It's back together with a few new parts. Sadly the issue it has when I got it persists. The green light that is supposed to turn on when the computer detects everything is fine and begins functioning isn't lit. The boiler heating amber light isn't lit either... Hmmm

To remove the scale buildup, I soaked every copper component in citric acid. I'm super impressed with how everything turned out, especially the heating element! I'm just waiting on a few safety valves, a pressure stat, a safety relay and a few other components before I can reassemble!

This is from a few days ago. I removed the boiler and discovered the heating element is covered in scale buildup. Thankfully the heating element seems to be fine. (12 Ohms of resistance for a 1200Watt heating element is just right.) More updates soon!

Group head gasket snapped into pieces. Setting it down on the table sounded like dropping a handful of jolly ranchers.
