Well, since trans people have always existed, the history would probably say a lot depending on the lens it's written from. Are you wanting to learn about transgender history in general or specific to sports?

If a trans woman is on feminizing HRT and is competing in women's Olympic weightlifting, she's not going to have much (if any) advantage because feminizing HRT will reduce her muscle mass. Trans men experience the opposite, which would be an advantage in weightlifting if competing against women.

I'll rephrase: no one is harmed by trans people being in sports, competitive or otherwise.

What you're referring to here are safety precautions and environmental precautions. People are harmed by those actions. No one is harmed by trans people being in sports.

Every single thing, EVERY SINGLE THING, that RFK has done was predictable and predicted. He is doing what every other fascist eugenicist has done before him. The disability community has been warning about this for YEARS. It is not in any way shape or form mysterious and unknowable.
