Winner of Un Certain Regard Youth Award at Cannes @festival_cannes is the lovely Vingt Dieux (Holy Cow!) by Louise Courvosier, joyous nailbiter of a first film all about cheese, love, youth and rural life. So glad I saw this.

#Saltburn a lush, creepy, sexy, cringey, thrilling Brideshead as the brakes slowly burn off. Linus Sandgren's cinematography contains the entireity of Shotdeck. Less Lanthimos and something very much of its own mythology. Fennell's best yet

Final #BIFA votes are in and what a year - can't comment until awards are given but after 105 feature films, I can say the British independent film industry is not short of ideas or quality. I am constantly amazed by these dazzling films

#BIFA British Independent Film Awards craft jury viewing underway: 105 feature films to watch, 45 international. It's a busy few weeks but some great films - including my favourite of all from Cannes "The Delinquents" I keep forgetting to attend the big BIFA soiree though

Oppenheimer second time IMAX better - and better than seeing it paired w Barbie same day. BAFTA crowd murmuring about 3 hours. It doesn't feel long. It feels immense. Don't be like that writer who won't see it because he "knows the story". See it on the biggest screen possible while you can
