This looks almost exactly like an idea I've had in my head for years. Low-poly 3D second hand game store management sim, I even mocked it up in Construct briefly.. although all I did for it was a 3D room and a mock NES-esque cart. Looks great so far!

I don't disagree with that, it's definitely dated and I wouldn't recommend buying it at all if I hadn't already owned it. but it really depends what you're after and it's still a really good learning tool. Construct 3 is basically the same but better (and far more expensive).

CTF is good, especially for younger kids. My son was able to wrap his head around the basics from 5 years and still uses it to make games and things for fun. It's a good tool for fostering creativity and interest in the field of game dev.
Plus I made a phone app in it once that sold really well.

The article whining about the story was a pretentious mess. His issue is the game is a typical military shooter storyline and doesn't drag current day politics into the story... which in my opinion is a good thing.

The real issue is how they decided to handle those guys. When you've suddenly got 5 spirit dudes hanging around it's ultra messy and the amount of times you accidentally do a gust of wind or some lightning when trying to pick a flower or sneak attack an enemy is unacceptable. You can turn them off.

I think the "weird" characters should've been unlockable in the open world rather than the Magikoopa item by finding and racing them, and outfits should've been bought with all the coins you find too rather than just eating a random food. Would've made so much more sense and given us more to do.

Also 3 or 4 Sonic racing games in and we still have items that just feel like random ideas. Why a tornado or a wisp or blowfish or bees etc. Why can't the "boost" item be something recognisable like Sonic shoes? Why am I throwing boxing gloves and not Amy's hammer or something?

My biggest critique is that I think the game didn't need rings at all. It's just annoying to see them flying off every time I clip a wall or another player and they really don't add much. I also agree with the critiques on music and track design.
It's enjoyable and fun with other people at least.

Seriously? I had no idea they were going to massacre Timesplitters like that, it really is just a straight up Fortnite clone, minus years of crossover skins and content, and there's no way it would've done well. Not every game needs to be a live service thing!

Fair, though in my opinion I don't think the blocks on a playfield should move much at all. Puyo Pop is a decent example of this, they squish when slammed down but its super brief. If it was 5x faster it might be better.

That wobbling looks like it'd be super distracting and hard to visually read / scan, especially as gameplay and speed gets more intense.

Also that Switch 2 tour game should be free and included with the system. And that wheelchair basketball game looks really drab.

This was my first Sonic game as a kid, no guides or internet to help me find the emeralds. Finding the emeralds in Sonic 2 on Master System were even harder.

Crysis Wars? Was testing this for a LAN party a while back but we never played it in the end. Tried it with 2 people though and took forever to figure out what to do, then the game randomly crashed to the point of the PC needing a hard reset.

It'll always be Blood for me. That game, along with Shadow Warrior which I got at the same time, gave me so much joy at exactly the right time in my life. Also F.E.A.R. would be second place tier.

Not a huge fan of the amount of rings everywhere, makes it feel a bit "busy" in races. Also really hate how bright and flashy the tricks are, I feel like I'm being blinded everytime a character pulls of a trick and they're being done every half a seconds in this. I did love Transformed though.

Tired of forced AI stuff everywhere. Can't search on Google anymore without some AI written stuff up the top of every search result. I hate this timeline where every company wants to cram some shit AI into every facet of their business. Everything used to be so simple and user friendly.

I mean it's basically a paid demo that kind of guarantees you the full game. Not really a bad thing as such, unless the game itself turns out to be bad, but it's also good for generating hype in a lot of cases.
I do agree that it really only has a place in an indie-style environment, not "AAA".
