This informative illustration explains the following… A chomer's hooked teeth feel like velvet covered antlers. They don't lose the "velvet” and they don't fall off because they are a part of the skull. Chomer shifters, like Lu, can give themselves "flesh fangs". They aren't covered in velvety fur. Poking a flesh fang feels like poking a human's forehead, it's obvious there is hard bone under the thin skin. [Image 1-2] A moose (bust) with velvet covered antlers and a chomer (bust). Liel talks excitedly with the alien she got her transformation from. She knew aliens were real -and she's glad to meet one! Maybe there’s a time line where both Skee-Skee and Liel get the Furrowphage removed and then they get to recover together? Or this could be totally unrelated to the Furrowphage Quarantine Event. Liel is just really excited to meet an alien! Luckily the two can communicate using Skee-Skee’s native language (Represented in English here so readers know what’s going on :’D)

It’s not often that I get to draw a science/ body horror themed TF sequence (Because most of my shapeshifters function on a magical system). This sequence is based on an event/ thread from my rp group~ Liel wasn’t the first character to be captured and experimented on. Skee-Skee (aka 001) already underwent infection and testing. The Furrowphage Pathogen that was removed from the alien must have retained some knowledge of his race, the Ssai-ch-ssa. Now it has passed that information along to it's new host, Liel (013). Shortly after she’s infected by a Furrowphage, recycled or otherwise, Liel will start to "unravel". The pathogen interrupts and/or confuses the signals that allow Liel's soul to control her undead body. The magical worms that make up her insides act erratically or otherwise fall limp. But deep within the "programming" of the worms is the instruction to keep Liel "alive" at all costs. They just needed a unifying "command" from Liel (the command to shapeshift) to snap out of their chaotic wiggling. This is the last page of this sequence. Skee-Skee still has no idea if his neighbor is one of his own kind or something else. He will try to comfort her regardless! The Ssai-ch-ssa are not my creation! I can’t give you guys an in depth explanation of this alien species. But Doodley Stew did mention to me that female Ssai-ch-ssa have longer mouth parts and… chin wigglies? I thought that was a fun detail so I tried to give Liel a slightly longer “snoot” and “beard”.

The Furrowphage Quarantine event is a side story hosted in my rp group! Unfortunately for Liel that means she has become a test subject in this nightmare scenario… In this setting Vampire Liel's cutsey attire is exchanged for an orange jump suit. She was probably captured by this sus science organization because she's basically a cryptid, an undead bloodsucker. For the first 24 hours she would be insufferable, ranting on and on about how important she is. These science people will be in SO much trouble when the girl's family finds out she's been wrongfully imprisoned! But time passes and no one comes to Liel's rescue. Hopelessness overcomes her. She changes tactics, stops intimidating the staff and begs to be released. The Furrowphage Concept/ Pathogen Design is not my creation so it’s not my place to explain what they are (Not that I know all the details myself). All you need to know is that they are about the size of a human thumb. They have bobble “heads”, fuzzy bodies, and spider like limbs. And most alarmingly, they can infect other creatures and take them over! Liel was infected with the Furrowphage Pathogen via shot. I drew the Furrowphage clawing it’s way into the girl’s mind in the third panel.

Vam-Pirate Liel! Just a dif look for her based on a suggestion, I cooked up a little "What-If" story in the alt text.

[Image 1] Liel, a vampire girl, dressed as a pirate! She wears a red and navy blue uniform and a white dress. Her stockings are striped. Her leather belts and boots are brown. STORY - In this instance, Liel’s undead body doesn’t retain it’s lively coloration. Instead she looks dull and "deathly" all the time. Also, the first time she’s burned by the sun it leaves a scar over her eye. Liel is very sensitive about her appearance, so at first she tries to hide her ghostly blue skin under clothing, and she hides her scar under an eye patch. Later someone mistakes Liel’s strange look for stage makeup. This gives the girl an idea. She finds a theatrical outfit and a cutlass. She spends a lot of time in taverns (Out of the sun because she’s still a vampire), performing skits and singing sea shanties! She thrives on the attention she garners, but whenever someone asks about her undead appearance she claims it’s just a part of her act! She’s a ghost pirate! Which is clearly a made up thing and definitely not a literal undead vampire in disguise!

In the finished version Lu is breathing fire. Her colors and scale pattern looked a little different too. Mro's mane color is lighter in the rough. This version lacks detail overall.

More Dragon Lu~ Dragon-shifter society (in my #AnimalRaiment setting) can be pretty barbaric. In-fighting among clan members is super common, in fact it’s encouraged in some cases. Lu doesn’t understand or like this, and she really doesn’t like it when her friends get hurt!

Giving #Lu a #dragon #form is my way of exploring a "pauper to princess" idea (because dragon powers usually come with noble status in my setting). I've had this idea since 2023 but I'm still figuring it out.
