Welcome to the H!

I don't hate this. His numbers from last year, his first full year in the majors, don't look bad. He had some let down games, but also threw some good ones. One of those was a 5 hit shutout performance over 5 innings against our boys. This would seem to help Jake's chances of staying with us.

Liked what I saw from Enyel last year.

We have a version of this in southeast Texas with the anoles. The poor things venture out during the day and cannot move back to their hidy holes when it gets cold in the evening. And if there's a freeze, most won't survive. I've rescued more than a few that I've found in such a condition.

Glad we're getting rid of all of this expertise. That can only make things better. Oh wait ... ugh

Wonder why he decided to go now? I can imagine a few reasons ... not all of them bode well for us.

Good discussion!

Given that Alex was the hitting coach for 9 years, a span that included many trips to the postseason, ALCS, and multiple trips to the world series, what is the justification for making this change? Doubt ya know that but that's the question on my mind.

It's hard to keep a good Trout down!

Maybe someone else could have come in besides Abreu, but with 2 on the guy at the plate could have brought the A's to within 4, and with the big bats they have anything is possible. They needed to shut that mess down. One upside ... Bryan hadn't thrown since the 20th and was clearly rusty.

And yet, amazingly, if our pitching had held up for just several of those games we still might be in race. We simply had too many bolts fall out of the machine at the same time.

One good takeaway for me was that one of our three hits came from Isaac. Having been gone or that long and not rehabbing in a game situation left some question about how ready he would be to actually produce at the plate. His hit last night was vintage Isaac.

Dang it ... even when ya know it was unlikely, ya still hoped there might be an earlier resolution for Yordan's issue ... the 10 da aligns with the end of the season so there's still room to hope for the postseason.

I've been aching for them to take an approach like this all season. The stats have consistently highlighted the need. I'd love to think we've turned a corner!

The still shows it pretty well.

Whether it's a strain or a sprain ... there's a difference of course but time for recovery is so short now with just 11 games left ... he likely won't be back on the field this season. Hope like heck I'm wrong. Maybe post season. The moment I saw him stumble going across the plate my heart sank.

What is the rest of the roster move associated with this?

I noticed those unauthorized clouds yesterday ... somebody didn't get a memo! 😆

Maybe it isn't practical, but I think I like the idea of JP or Lance as an "opener", with Blubaugh planned to come in as long relief. Then if we get more out of JP or Lance, great. Maybe JP will be solid, but that has not been the pattern with our returning pitchers this season.

Andy I encountered a Snapdragon Win 11 Surface demo tablet at Best Buy today, and amazingly it wasn't so locked down that I couldn't download and install the MyRadar app. The verdict? It seemed to work! :)

He seems to be feeling the long season ... a day off could help him clear his mind a bit.

What's the lesson here ... that pitchers returning from TJ need a longer and gentler on ramp? I'd also be curious to understand the role his change of pitching motion had on all of this ... if he'd stuck with the shorter arm slot motion might that have protected him?

How many of these am I going to see in my feed?
