I quit my job as a federal scientist in October 2023 to run for Congress. Since losing my election in November, I’ve had trouble finding work & have had 8 close friends lose their jobs - surely with more to come.

Last year, I decided to take a giant leap and run for U.S. Congress.
People like me aren’t supposed to run for office. I don’t come from money or a powerful family.
I just want to live in a world that does right by everyone, that values women and differences, and that bases decisions on evidence.

After the Roe v Wade leak, I went down to a rally at the Texas Capitol and ran into Cecile Richards on the steps before she was set to speak.
I told her I’d just moved back home and was horrified by what is happening here.
She said: thank you so much for moving back, WE NEED YOU HERE.

In 2020, I served as a AAAS Science & Tech Policy Fellow in the office of Senator Elizabeth Warren, where I worked on a broad swath of policy issues and oversight investigations to hold bad actors in the Trump Administration and the private sector accountable.
