After her conviction, supporters argued that a ban was anti-democratic. But her guilt was so clear and her embezzling risk so great, her appeal didn’t matter. Her public facing argument is who cares who runs. Jordan Bardella is panting in the wings. My take is Macron changes the game with Ukraine.

In the old movies category, we just watched Frank Capra’s State of the Union, starring Katharine Hepburn, Spencer Tracy, and Angela Lansbury. About “selling out” in politics vs. principles, plus a healthy dose of love. Capra was a Republican, but you wouldn’t know it.

The US, but living in France. My Finnish grandfather fought in the Winter War. The Russians can/will be beat but I hope Ukraine, unlike Finland, will not lose (more) territory.
