We’re playing Connect 4 to review! Groups of 4, 2 per team. Team A draws a question card and asks Team B, if they answer correctly they place a piece on the game board. Then they switch. They actually focus and try to answer because they want to win the game! #bfc530 #edusky

I use PHET and Gizmos. While I don’t think simulations can (or should) replace real labs, it’s helpful when teaching a concept with limited time and/or resources. #bfc530

And then we’re also not really allowed to let them fail. Students can sleep through every class, receive an F, then do a packet and get a C. There’s no accountability.

I think technology is also a contributing factor. In my classes students don’t bother trying to learn or retain new information. I get asked often why they need to know something when they have Siri/Google/ChatGPT etc. #edusky #bfc530

Additionally, he wants to increase funding to schools that teach a curriculum of his choosing, so how is that removing federal oversight? (And did you see the part about having parents elect principals???) Honestly, I think it will be a disaster and further weaken our education system…

It doesn’t make sense. He says it is to give states more control, but they already have that. Will be interesting to see the disparities with no national guidelines at all. Can states remove testing now? What about Title 1? What happens to ESE students?
