After positive peer reviews, 2 reads by UTP's lawyer, a few edits to appease the lawyer, and a new title, I finally have the green light on "the Don Cherry book." "Hockey Divides: White Working-Class Masculinity and a Canadian Icon" is coming to a bookstore near you in 2026.

Trying to find ANY NHL player who has spoken publicly against Israel's genocide in Gaza, surprisingly/not surprisingly I can't find one.

This is actually incredible.

Tennis Canada is willing to endorse genocide by hosting Israel in Davis Cup tennis for the low low low price of $2.2 million.

That's the projected economic benefit.

Not including the cost of policing protesters, which will of course be deducted from that.

If Canada goes through with hosting Israel in a Davis Cup tennis match in September, it is tantamount to endorsing the genocide of Palestinians—at the very moment it claims it will acknowledge a Palestinian state.

We argue for @mondoweiss.net that the only moral choice is to cancel.

Thanks to fan backlash, a German football club is cancelling the signing of an Israeli striker who shared posts after Oct 7 calling to "wipe Gaza off the map" and suggesting there were "no innocents" in the Gaza Strip.

We routinely celebrate the winners and heroes, acknowledge their good works in the community - but we can do better, much better.

If the Hockey Canada sexual assault trial didn't raise enough questions about this, this certainly raises more.
