More people participating generally means they'd lose. This is why so many states are gerrymandered & we still have the electoral college. Allows for minority rule. Ugh! That's similar to what happened here in the Phoenix area. A ton of people kicked renters out and put their homes up on the market. My landlord saw the trend and although he kept his house, he participated in the price gouging that was taking place everywhere else. 🙄
