I represent 67,000 in my district and over 700k in my county as one of the 100 or so trans* folks who actually hold office. I coached three new trans* candidates for the next cycle.
Believe me, I get the responsibility we hold very well.

Obedience without questioning or expressing concern is contrary to a free society. That's not just a trans* issue, it's a human one.
If there was a statement of "I object and will fight to overturn this," then fine. But to say nothing? Nope.

By saying "Sure, you can marginalized my rights. Don't worry about it," she effectively gave the GOP power and a talking point for every other attack on the trans* community moving forward.

I had the same feeling and the same realization. I only hope her decision doesn't hurt our whole community by being compliant without so much as a condemnation. Not a good look tbh
