Trans* Woman | 1st Elected Trans Executive in IL | Advocate | Activist | Mom | Wife

This is my unapologetic take on the world and intended for adult audiences.
(Thanks 🥰)

Not a great paraphrasing of the conversation - perhaps a misunderstanding? I agreed with the OP on both parts with my initial response - same concerns, same realization - we can't invalidate our own. It was never to "fire" one of our own. Ew. No.

You assume I am uninformed.

I represent 67,000 in my district and over 700k in my county as one of the 100 or so trans* folks who actually hold office. I coached three new trans* candidates for the next cycle.

Believe me, I get the responsibility we hold very well.

It feels soft considering the impact was not only her, but all gender non-conforming persons who may visit the Capital.

And yes, I am allowed to be upset and feel betrayed while simultaneously not demanding anything other than the right to voice those feelings without being told how to.

To be fair, you provided a headline with zero context or source.

Yes - she was removed from session. The headline appeared to misrepresent that action. That action was despicable in all ways.

Also of note, @zoandbehold.bsky.social is still a Montana representative. That is a misleading headline.

Obedience without questioning or expressing concern is contrary to a free society. That's not just a trans* issue, it's a human one.

If there was a statement of "I object and will fight to overturn this," then fine. But to say nothing? Nope.

By saying "Sure, you can marginalized my rights. Don't worry about it," she effectively gave the GOP power and a talking point for every other attack on the trans* community moving forward.

Also, its impossible to be effective when compromising with what amounts to unyielding terrorist behaviors.

This - is my SPICESTICK!

I had the same feeling and the same realization. I only hope her decision doesn't hurt our whole community by being compliant without so much as a condemnation. Not a good look tbh

Feel that pain. I end up with either Crystal or Krystal.

The best is when I get all three spellings in the same email. 🤦‍♀️
