If you know you're dealing with a hostile press, try not to be caught taking/not declaring freebies, etc, such an easy win for them. And aligns them with everything that was so bad about the tories. 'They're all the same' leads people towards Reform.

The party is giving a very effective helping hand to people who think this way.

It is really poor practice given how long it's been standard for people with lived experience and groups that represent them to be part of advisory boards, etc, the NIHR requires it these days. And they should be involved in designing the research not just commenting on it.
