Yes, this. This doesn't have to be the most realistically looking game. Most fanbase is content with Remasters though they're not the pinnacle of graphical technology and core fanbase is happy with TRLE's with even inferior tech. It's about the gameplay and adventure more than anything else.

Tough one to answer. Years ago I'd have thought Naughty Dog would have been better or Ubisoft (following early entries of AC or Uncharted games). Today it's a bit different situation. I honestly don't see a studio that could be a good contender. Someone similar to Bloober but less horror focused?

It always would have been better off with someone else. Question is whether it can be freed from where the franchise is now and released to someone more respectful to it's legacy and open to continue creating its future...
