I fall down a lot.

Things I like: running, reading, photography, hiking, travel, music, history.
Big crowd in Hobart today.

Which side of history do you want to be on? You can’t call yourself decent while turning a blind eye to the murder of women and children. Comfort is complicity. If you’re not standing up, you’re standing with the killers. Palestine needs justice, not your excuses.

I don’t grieve celebrity deaths, but David Lynch wasn’t a celebrity. He was an artist. Bringing proper mindfuck weirdness into the mainstream. Immaculate aesthetic, kind heart and work resonating with those out of sync with “normal.”

Thanks, David, for finding the beauty in the grotesque.

Spotify Crapped?

No thanks. It's Last.fm Lists for me. No real surprises for me. So much great music, so little time!

I've got to hand it to them, Pearl Jam really does put on a fantastic show. There's something to be said for opening with "Better Man". Seriously, having 50,000 people singing along to a song that you wrote in high school music be quite a trip!

The Fauves overcome some technical difficulties to deliver a great set back in Hobart after a spell.

I'd love to see a full gig running through the entirety of their fantastic new LP, "Tropical Strength".

Bluesky now has over 10 million users, and I was #90,787!

Is that good?

Art is rebellion against monotony that whispers, “Why not?”

I took this photograph last night with a camera set to a low ISO level and a slow shutter speed, a smart bulb, and a mindset to "play".

Some of my favourite times are spent underwater.

Have you ever been underwater when thunder is rolling above you? It's a sound that you feel rather than hear.

When I struggle to process, I reimagine things as if underwater. At the very least, I might find a path suitable for a Leatherjacket.

When the frost is still this heavy at the end of a two hour run and the puddles are still covered with ice, you can be sure that we have truly entered winter.

Minus 2°C at the start, 1°C at the finish. Suffice to say, the fingers were aching.

One of the good things about living under a mountain is that you're always only a short while away from a half-decent photograph.

Here are some clouds on kunanyi.
