It’s always been a radical statement. The concept underpinned the American Revolution, abolition, women’s suffrage, the Civil Rights movement in the US, the pro-life movement, opposition to euthanasia, and the protests against ICE—all of which were/are seen as radical by opponents.

OTOH, they were talking about “peak oil” as something a few years out (from 1989). Didn’t count on advances in extracting oil from shale.

I respectfully disagree. Die Hard was always a Christmas Movie. Nicaea didn’t create a new doctrine regarding its Christmas nature. It merely defined this already-present truth in response to heretical beliefs about the nature of Die Hard.
