Oliver Suchanek and @katta.bsky.social at #CHI2025. Refreshing to see a good deaf-hearing collaborator dynamic: both presenters signed, and interpreters did the voicing. So much more respectful than the typical scenario of the deaf presenter signing and the hearing presenter talking up a storm.

The American deaf chess team brought home three medals at the 6th Pan-American Games in Canoas, Brazil. One gold in the rapid tournament, and one gold and one silver in classical time controls. What struck me is how much we’ve come to rely on modern communication tools.

As an accessibility professional, looking at what platforms do is of supreme importance to me and one of the first things I check. This is ... a start. The feature seems to be super-glitchy, though. And of course, there's also captions, etc etc etc.
