#tbt to our @mcgilleducation.bsky.social Learning Sciences bonfire and potluck a couple Saturdays ago. Many thanks to Krista Muis for hosting and to everyone who attended for making it such a fun night! I was extremely touched by the way students organized to mark and celebrate my tenure. ❤️

I was pretty bad at taking pictures but #APA25 sure was lovely! Missed seeing folks who couldn’t make it but it was a joy to see those who could! Many thanks to Div 15 for making a fantastic program!

Last week I got the news that I've been awarded tenure and promotion to Associate Professor at @mcgill.ca.

Being a professor--research, teaching, service--is the best job to me. I'm incredibly grateful, especially for all the people who helped me get here & thrive here. ❤️

And this group had the task of trying to *lower* their classmates' self-efficacy for the course project--they had a little TOO much fun doing this. ;) We spotted some messages about cost and belonging in there, too. Don't worry, we debriefed afterward! 4/

Groups were assigned to try and boost or damage a specific motivational belief about the course project, and the rest of the students had to guess what their assignment was.

This group wrote an advice column to try and boost self-efficacy using what they know about sources of self-efficacy: 3/

We've thought of some questions ourselves (screenshot below for inspo), but we want to know: what do YOU want to know about theorizing?

Questions can be posted as replies here or emailed to me (kristy dot robinson at mcgill dot ca). @aeradivcgrad.bsky.social @aera-motsig.bsky.social 2/2

@jeffgreene.bsky.social & I are excited for our #AERA25 symposium "Uncovering the Hidden Curriculum: The Past, Present, and Future of Theory Development in Educational Psychology"

We hope to see you there! In the meantime, we're crowd-sourcing questions for our star-studded panel of theorists. 1/2

Very honored that our recent CritQuant JEP paper was highlighted as an Editor's Choice selection! The best part is that the paper is now freely available (I think?) for 30 days--hooray! @sanheeta.bsky.social #edpsych psycnet.apa.org/doi/10.1037/...

Last week, as part of our @mcgill.ca LS brown bag series, we did a "speed-mentoring" activity that ended up being SO awesome, much more successful than I had predicted. TL;DR: GREAT activity for community-building! For more details, read on... #AcademicTwitter 1/3 @edtechprof.bsky.social

My #stats students really brought it this semester, especially on the last assignment. They had the option to create original memes conveying something they learned about statistics. Some of my faves:

Interrupting my work-related posting to say: wow wow wow this book. Overstory moved me, and I was impressed all over again after reading this piece on Powers www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...
