Human-ish astronaut on a pretty, natural, organic, spherical space ship that's orbiting Sol (Weeeeeeeee!) & trying to do this human gig; it's not easy.
Perhaps there's a new twisted definition of "peace" they're using. I'm sure DT will win it again next year (but it will be named the Extra Super Big Peace Prize) along with the first ever prize for being the best peace prize winner in the history of peace prizes, & it comes with a Happy Meal toy.

Excellent interview!

Interestingly DT posted a few days ago on TruSoc a photo of the plaque at the military academy that says officers must defy illegal orders. Either he didn't read it or understand it, or he's flat out admitting he gives illegal orders.

"Charlotte's Web" is a book about the importance of diversity (every animal had a different strength), compassion (no one wanted Wilbur killed for being different), & inclusion (everyone gave space for everyone else's differences).

Using this book title as a nickname for cruelty is disgusting.

One of my gurus said, "the government doesn’t care about you, or your children, or your rights, or your welfare, or your safety." I wanted to be an optimist & believe otherwise, but he was right. I think I'm going to cross-stitch that quote, put flowers on it, frame it, & hang it on my front door.

"The money's missing from your emergency cash 'cause you keep buying lunch at expensive places. I'm trying to save money. That $100k car was a good deal. You are going to thank me for it when your crap car dies. You're lucky I'm handling your finances or you'd be bankrupt. You are so ungrateful."

"Those empty condom wrappers in my car aren't mine. That jerk from work throws them in there every week because he's trying to make me look bad when he's the one cheating on his wife. I wouldn't cheat on you. You must be stupid if you believe that."

1) You look lovely!!!
2) Are you carrying a Pinnochio with you because otherwise kids are going to just see an old guy who really likes clocks. (Oh good, I typed clocks... double checking my spelling there.)

What you see and hear on the surface covers the noise and vibration of anything underground.

Debris can be removed through tunnels that exit at quarries, mines, etc. or deposited in natural caves.

Having bunkers and tunnels are a good idea. But...

Maybe "winning" is living a more simple life, getting educated without the degrees, skipping the trendy "top 10 must do" lists. Maybe "winning" is being brave enough and strong enough to be honest with ourselves, to change our values as needed, and to act with integrity.
October 20, 2025 at 6:50 PM
Make your own game within the game. Change what the definition of "winning" is.

Maybe "winning" isn't about achieving the "American Dream" or having a lavish private jet to take you to a private island.

A person may not be able to leave their country. Or they may not want to; it's an injustice that they must lose their home because of a tyrannical overlord .

In such dysfunctional systems, the best way to win the dysfunctional game is to not play it by the tyrant's rules.

Break the game.
October 20, 2025 at 6:50 PM
The "dysfunctional family" isn't always a family. Sometimes it's a school , neighborhood, job, religion, or even your own country.

Leaving the dysfunctional family game sometimes isn't possible. A child may not be able to leave a dysfunctional school. A worker may be stuck in a dysfunctional job.
October 20, 2025 at 6:50 PM
Still, the tyrant often won't stop. They may follow you, stalk you, spread lies about you, attack you physically, and try to keep other people from trusting or helping you.

It takes courage to leave this dysfunctional family game. And even with such courage, you will doubt yourself. It's ok.
October 20, 2025 at 6:50 PM
To maintain the "function" of a "dysfunctional family", we must all have a scapegoat or be the scapegoat (sometimes we do both).

If you are the scapegoat, you lose the game...maybe.

There is another way. We can refuse to play the game. We can leave and live our own happy lives.
October 20, 2025 at 6:50 PM
But nothing works out so perfectly. Some people will refuse or pull away or try to take over power by repeating those tactics. To keep power over the people who remain, the tyrant finds a scapegoat, someone they can blame for the imperfections in their world, obviously not themselves.
October 20, 2025 at 6:50 PM
To maintain their power (feeling loved), they use tactics like shame, guilt, blame, gossip, instigating fights, threats, punishment, favoritism, and fear. They keep everyone guessing, and as long as you play along, say all the right things, and do what they want, you will be worthy of their love.

When a president of the people glorifies the idea that it is humorous or beneficial to figuratively or literally shit on the people they serve, they are not deserving of the role of President. Like a highly abusive parent, they are a bully in a position of power and must be removed from the role.

Maybe students chose to focus energy on learning & understanding interdependent subjects rather than how to pass unnecessary tests with oversimplified answers to complex questions (about scenarios w/confounding variables) because systems value scores instead of valuing thoughtful, creative people.

Govt run programs tend to have more bureaucracy & legislative challenges, which can slow innovation & flexibility, but improve safety.

For-profit programs tend to have more risk & greed that fuel speed (& need rules).

Neither is perfect, & both have pros and cons. They can benefit each other.
May 8, 2025 at 12:07 PM
Privatizing science, w/ a belief that for-profit is more efficient than govt-run systems, is partially beneficial. But govt-run & NGO-non-profits offer resources for exploring rather than profiting, & while private business has a place in science & space, it needs a leash. We need all 3 approaches.
