I'm curious what the goal was in the end? Were you trying to make a card that was obviously powerful but had a large drawback that people would be willing to pay? Or was it more of a lesson in how drawbacks are meaningless if the card is strong enough? I've always loved Masticore and am curious!

Geez, as I looked through the sets from that...decade...I realize how incredibly important it was to getting me and my friends into magic. Nearly every set had fun, powerful cards, that never felt like they were pushing the boundary of what magic was.
