13 years ago today, I was ordained as a priest in the Episcopal Church. As part of the proceedings, I was handed a Bible and told to preach the gospel. Short version: all living beings, human or otherwise, are beloved of the creator. Our call is to love, seek justice, practice mercy, walk humbly.

The thing about singing is that it takes a lot of concentration, some training to do it well, patience, and a willingness to make mistakes (and learn from them). A little humility doesn't hurt, either.

Perhaps life and relationships should be addressed in the same way.

And so should governing!
