watched vampire hunter D bloodlust today and had a very good time with it. i know people obsessing over the 90s/early 2000s anime look is kinda a meme but they got a point, incredibly good background work that we dont really get anymore.
A frame from the film mentioned in the post itself. The dhampir vampire hunter, D, sits upon his horse in the lower middle of the shot, dwarfed by the highway infrastructure surrounding him. The background is taken up by the sky, a dark blue gradient contrasting with the bright sand below. D once again is riding through the desert, now filled with debris from long rusted and decayed towers. The structure dominating the shot is a satellite dish, left to corrode for who knows how long.
