It would probably be much more effective, and impactful, if instead of just trying to generally appeal to everyone (for example, Hooktail in Paper Mario: TTYD), or putting on a friendly facade to try and decieve you (like, as I mentioned earlier, Flowey), it appeals directly to Toby's main audience.

Because those fans who knew not to trust them would then be conflicted: they would KNOW that FRIEND shouldn't be trusted, but then again, it promised an additional path, more content, and those types of fans want to see EVERYTHING.

Of course, it would try something else first, just trying to pull a Flowey and trick the player into following it, but those who know enough about the game would know better than to trust it. So, it promises the thing we'd want above all else: more DELTARUNE. Things we wouldn't see otherwise.

So, what if, in an attempt to get US, the PLAYERS, to "follow the pointed tail", it promises the one thing that those who are big enough fans to know of its existance, the thing that we would want above all else:
