They're called public records for a reason. Starting today, WIRED will *stop paywalling* articles that are primarily based on public records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, becoming the first publication to partner with @freedom.press to offer this for our new coverage.

These public servants loved their jobs…their federal, behind-the-scenes, put your head down and do the work “dream jobs”. The honor and pride they felt serving our country is palpable, and the loss of that hope is what should scare us all.
