Links can be made into other links by using their arrows. Like, a Link-2 and another monster can be made into a Link-3.

Links have no specific material requirements other than what the card says, and the link arrow number. For something like "2+ Effect monsters" with 3 arrows send the 3 to grave, and place the link in the Extra Monster Zone. Links can only be summoned to the main zone if a link arrow points to it.

Rush duel is essentially a simplified game they made to soft reboot the franchise. There are only 3 monster zones and 3 spell/trap zones. You draw until you have 5 at the start of every turn. Unlimited normal summons. No chain link 2.
Basically a simplified yugioh. It's still running in japan.
