I'm not saying it would apply to the internet that we have, but that the internet would have been different and better if Clinton and Gore had chosen to regulate it via the FCC (and, as a general principle, if Reagan and Bush hadn't changed the FCC rules around political speech).

My mind reels at the implication that the administration is greenlighting bribery and wanting to own the companies that corruptly undermine foreign governments.

At the very least, they should frame the daily Trump news as one continuing story of predictable autocratic consolidation rather than presenting each outrage as an isolated conundrum.
