I checked MN’s insurance exchange & essentially I am being offered a Bronze Plan for 2026 for the monthly premium that I paid for Gold in 2025. There are NO plans available for me & my wife for under $1000/mo. This is crazy.
We saw a 40% increase for 2026.
2027 will be entirely unaffordable.

Definitely. I just wanted to use your good post to help educate the people who rail against the EC, but genuinely don’t understand it. Some people think it’s based on counties.
If we want to make the EC work how it should (like it did for decades), we need to uncap the House & add Senators (DC & PR)

435+100+3=538 (w/270+ to win)
The House of Reps is capped at 435. It should be expanding w/each census.

That’s why I tried a Gold plan last year, to see if my copays for specialists, etc. would be better—Not really, so it’s plan shopping time again. This country is ridiculous. 🤬

I’ve been tense all month and finally got my notice today: a 40% increase per month for 2026. I hope you receive MUCH better news than that.

I got my notice from Medica in MN. 40+% increase in my monthly premiums from 2025 to 2026. Yes, this is a Gold plan, but it only covers my wife & me. We run our own small business. I will need to shop for something much cheaper. We tried a Gold plan for a year to see if it saved us money. Oh well.
