The best named track of the year
December 5, 2025 at 3:49 PM
Moron Police- Pachinko: Probably the album of the year if your tastes are more inclined to classic prog as opposed to the stuff I listen to. I would recommend getting stoned out of your mind before listening to this, I didn't and that's probably why my score isn't higher. 6/7

Pupil Slicer- Fleshwork: Have enjoyed everything I've heard from them so far, no changes here. 5/7

Cea Serin- The World Outside: Absolutely up my alleyway in terms of stuff I liked but every song did not need to be 10+ minutes long, really took away from the end product. 5/7
December 1, 2025 at 3:01 PM
Flummox- Southern Progress: Good quality weird prog that doesn't do as much for me because it's way too Mr Bungle-y for my tastes. 4.5/7
December 1, 2025 at 2:59 PM
Dyssidia- Deeper Wells of Meaning: the elevator pitch is "Caligula's Horse, but heavier". Vocalist's clean vocals aren't as good as Vegemite Jim's though. 5.5/7
December 1, 2025 at 2:56 PM
Calva Louise- Edge Of The Abyss: It gets too mainstream metal sounding (think Poppy) for my tastes but I can kinda see the vision. The songs where they sing in spanish are the best ones. 4/7
November 24, 2025 at 3:02 PM
Cam Girl- Flesh and Chrome: Neat mix of 80s hard rock and pop punk. Does kinda feel like it lacked a bit for me even though I enjoyed it. 4.5/7
November 24, 2025 at 2:59 PM
Grin- Acid Gods: Doom can only do so much for me, another album that I thought was decent but someone who loves doom would probably think is a sick album. 4.5/7

The hero portrait artwork in Heroes of Might and Magic 3 was some of the coolest shit and I have no idea who is responsible for it (or if higher quality versions of them exist)

My TL aligned perfectly again

Spectral Sorcery- Hyperspace Odyssey: I am not a doom guy but I enjoyed it. If you are a doom guy, gal or non-binary pal you will probably enjoy it more than I did. 5/7
November 17, 2025 at 4:24 PM
Stellar Circuits- Phantom Phoenix: I can see the vision for this album but it's mostly mediocre. Probably doesn't help that this is probably for people who like Dance Gavin Dance and I am not a huge fan of theirs. 3.5/7

It's a shame they only released one album
November 14, 2025 at 2:28 PM
Hexrot- Formless Ruin of Oblivion: Kinda feels like it's got another gear from a lot of the tech death/prog death stuff I've listened to. Feels like a pretty easy rotation add. 5.5/7

Me laughing at Jordan Love being ass while watching JJ McCarthy being just as ass

Danielle Smith's next policy:
November 10, 2025 at 4:52 PM
Grace Hayhurst- The World Is Dying: It rules, way too up my alley in terms of things I'd like. Also extremely not surprised that Shelby Logan Warne produced this because it sounds like Kyros if they ditched synths for distortion. 6/7
November 10, 2025 at 3:36 PM
Agriculture- The Spiritual Sound: I kinda get the Deafheaven comparisons because everyone loved this but it didn't do as much as it should've for me. 4/7
November 10, 2025 at 3:33 PM
We Used To Cut The Grass- We Used To Cut The Grass #2: it's current and ex-Thank You Scientist members doing instrumental stuff, which rules for me and probably not so much for anyone who doesn't like them. 5/7
