This shot is a pretty clear reference to the Nativity scene: Greg is Mary (who is often shown enshrouded in blue) Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl are the three Kings or perhaps the shepherds. Their symbol is a star and to them, Rose (now Steven) is who they follow. Steven who is and isn't his mom and is and isn't Pink Diamond, is Baby Jesus who is not the father nor the ghost and yet all three are God. The Van is the manger. Earlier in the episode the three Gems brought this half-human infant three gifts that are as about as useful to him at the time as myrrh, gold, and frankincense would have been to a newborn Jesus.

I have now determined, that light means selected and dark means not selected. Because if it's light, like in this first screenshot, then it shows up here (second screenshot), notably as dark, whereas if the button is dark, it doesn't show up under Your Interests at all. Confusing!

It's interesting, there is definitely more activity but it seems limited to following maybe? Stats like how many bsky posts there are are pretty flat.

We've already had multiple very large spikes in activity, typically whenever a new flurry of users joins. These spikes correlate quite well with twitter nonsense.
People who were gonna switch mostly already have, but there still is a trickle, though it's a periodic pattern as is to be expected

Activity is on the rise again, yeah, albeit slowly, at least compared to previous events. I'm guessing most of those who wanted to leave the artist formerly known as twitter already have done so. Still, it *is* an uptick for sure.
Various stats of Bluesky across the day, week, month, and year. The last week or so saw a flurry of increased activity (albeit not yet as pronounced as the last thee huge waves over the months) Total daily, weekly, monthly recurring users of bluesky over the course of a day, week, month, and year. It's only a small uptick but it's a reversal of the trend of slow decay there has been since the last big spike a month or so ago.

Note how previous big events were like single moment spikes with exponential falloff. This time around, if anything, it looks like exponential *growth.* Very very different dynamics.
Four charts of Bluesky activity (by day, by week, by month, by year) The yearly graph shows three spiking events of activity that quickly fell off to some more or less constant base, but the most recent event doesn't look like that. It started off slower but kept accelerating. Clearly showing sustained exponential growth for several days with no signs of stopping (as of 2024/11/15) Four graphs of daily/weekly/monthly recurrent users (over a day, week, month, or year respectively) In the past, except for brief spikes, this graph has been pretty close to balanced: Brief moments of more users followed by brief moments of less users. And usually, at least one of the three categories (daily, weekly, monthly) would be negative at least once a day. This time around though, there were several days of sustained positive growth of all three user categories. A very very brief dip into negatives for the daily users suggests maybe that pattern is breaking, but even now it's definitely well above the balanced zero-line. Four graphs of the recurring Bluesky user base in aggregate (daily, weekly, monthly recurring users across a day, week, month, or year) Previous events of growth had a pattern of very sudden steep growth that would quickly flatten out again. The current growth pattern, however started much flatter and has only become steeper over time.
