Already now costs for setting up and running a fab are heavily influenced by the current taxes. Machinery but also raw material needed for producing chips. That ASML lithography tool or that TEL Coater Developer got a nice price increase...

Its amazing. Importing semiconductors - no tarif. Importing machines, parts and materials for a semiconductor fab - currently 10% years with room for more. Intel and TSMC as leading fabs, but also many smaller ones will eat hard on that.
