interested in all things cities - in particular urban mobility with public transit, cycling, and walkability. also care about politics, foreign policy, and soccer. YNWA!
Visited the UK for the first time with my wife this past week and finally got to visit Anfield for the #LFC match against Madrid. What an insane experience - the crowd never stops singing, they pay attention to every second of play. It went above and beyond what I was hoping it to be. #YNWA

Currently in London riding their busses and underground where quiet, clean, efficient & open gangway trains come every two to four minutes thinking about how pathetic that even a Conservative government here are basically a bunch of Democrats. And that is even much better on continental Europe.

Again, doing business with (import bans, etc) is different than sanctions, isn't it?

Great vibes at Oakland's Lake Merritt today. Many many thousands in attendance. #NoKings

This kid, a Nazi? no way!

... And in other news, water is wet.

Janet Mills, you would be 84 years old at the end of the term if you win this Senate race. Please for the love of god vote for Platner.

There you go.

TIL! This New Yorker article on New Mexico and the role it's playing today for the pro choice movement is fascinating. They had to make things happen to be ready for Roe's overturning and they did it just in the nick of time. So grateful they did. #NewMexico

Transformation is probably not the right word for it... but whatever this is from MTG is interesting. She'll never ever be a Democrat, but it feels like something is happening with her, her constituency, and her wing of the Republican Party.

This is so naive, I can hardly believe it
October 2, 2025 at 5:43 PM
That must be this section, yeah? First time I saw a road cyclist right here going along the shoulder I figured he was just doing it as a stunt and/or because it was a great downhill where he could get flying.

This looks like a stock photo to be used in an Onion article lol

I can't believe they included that in the survey, it just seems silly and even amateurish to have it in there. A few pages on from that section, I think, is the most important, and this is how I responded:

Can you imagine the @nytimes.com posting such a positive photo and headline when Congress passed the ACA? Jesus fucking Christ.
July 4, 2025 at 1:30 AM
Who are these people that write headlines? How could they possibly land on the word "gyrate" and think that was the most appropriate here?
June 17, 2025 at 4:46 PM
For once, a reasonable headline from the NYT that is simple, clear, and objective.

A one-world government would be worse than nuclear holocaust? These SV types truly are just so fucking weird. So creepy.

So much in this piece is so revealing about their insatiable hunger for power, and maybe more fundamentally, desire to be accepted. Total losers.

Always happy when public officials ride & promote their local public transit. Here is the new Oakland mayor riding BART. We can't expect our representatives to make transit better unless they actually use the service they fund and make policies for. Hope to see him on an AC Transit bus soon 🚇🚌

And despite its small size, I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for Albuquerque's Alvarado Transit Center. W/ connections to ABQ's bus network, ABQ Rapid Transit, RailRunner, and in the heart of downtown, I believe it has the potential to be developed into something bigger & better. 15/

#1 couldn't be any other thanNYC Grand Central Station. It's scale is difficult to describe, and like #2, it's a total dream. And to boot, the oyster bar is one of the most beautiful restaurant's you will find anywhere, in addition to countless other great food options. Simply unbeatable. 12/
