This is the message we need to send at #TeslaTakedown protests today: we know Tesla's trillion dollar valuation is built on fraud and abuse, and we are coming for it. We will make Tesla ownership a taboo, cars and stock, unthinkable to anyone who believes in the basic values of the U.S. constitution

How's that Twitter deal aging? How's Tesla's car business doing? How's that bet on Elon's magic self-driving beans feeling right about now? Go ask the one analyst who is too smart to be popular how good SpaceX's business really looks.

The real letdown is still coming, bro. The signs are all there.

I’m glad to have chance to share some older ones!

The big takeaway here is that Reuters won this case against the AI company on grounds they violated fair use—the judge found the AI company was guilty because, in using copyrighted works to generate its output, it “meant to compete... by developing a market substitute.”

Huge.

Thomson Reuters has won the first major AI copyright case in the US. The decision has big implications for the battle between generative AI companies and rightsholders.

Abnormal Mapping is always a great podcast, but this particular episode has some fantastic discussion about games and how we approach them. Extremely strong recommendation.

We played Sonic 06 and it inspired the longest Abnormal Mapping in history! Me and Jackson spend nearly four hours going over the game, the Legacy of Solaris mod, and the way games get enshrined in culture. Please enjoy, I think this episode turned out great www.abnormalmapping.com/the-abnormal...
Abnormal Mapping 168: Sonic the Hedgehog (2006): Legacy of Solaris — Abnormal Mapping
We close out the year by playing one of the most infamous games we’ve ever covered, a game that has been a running joke and shorthand for bad game for nearly twenty years. And yet, do we find the judg...

Eiko Ishioka’s work on the lesser-sung IMMORTALS, her penultimate project, is eerie and operatic, sensual and extravagant; can’t overstate the degree to which she electrifies and enriches the style in Tarsem Singh’s spectacle. My appreciation:
