Their Masters and their profession was up to them. They didn’t have to be an “engineer”. I just wanted them to have the background. When they pushed back, Hertz won’t let you rent a car until you are 25yo. Why? Frontal lobe isn’t developed. So, not letting them make life choices until they are 25.

I had simple rules for my kids, started at age 6.
1. Play a team sport. People will let you down, you need to figure out how to keep working with them.
2. Play piano (age 5-18). Music is foundational and every adult I know wishes they stuck with it.
3. Undergrad in Engineering.
