Seems like you have some leverage with the upcoming continuing resolution to make that happen. Or at least make the R's reverse course on some of the BB bill's more universally unpopular provisions.

Turns out that if you spend 50 years running away from your base your base will stop showing up. Turns out giving your voters something to vote for instead of just giving them the "lesser evil" option wins elections. He could have guessed?

They can't do anything now because they've never done anything at all. The Dems have spent 50 years running away from what should be their base and then insisting that we have to vote for them because the other guy is worse as a viable GOTV strategy. Turns out, it's not .
