I picked up Metal From Heaven because it made NPR's Books We Love 2024....but I have to admit I only made it about 40% of the way through. Hoping to pick it back up sometime.

If you ever want to talk, you know where I'm at. And I do understand. My metabolism is completely wrecked by 35 years of restriction, so it's not likely that my body will ever change.

At one point I was working with a psychiatrist, a therapist and two dietitians - one for gut health and one for ED. It took a lot of really hard work to be able to claim recovery status. Worth it.

Six years into recovery after 35 years of an eating disorder. There is light at the other side! (And yep, I knew it was bad, but it was still a shock when my psychiatrist diagnosed me.)
