Halloween at the Palaus has begun; looks like it will be another busy one!

PS yes, of course we have full-size candy bars 😜

PS winning prize is a pony keg of any of their delicious beers, which is *slightly* more then I have any idea what to do with 😂

Guess who won Golden Valley Brewery’s Trick or Trivia event last night? 🎉

Watched this brand new documentary about John Candy on the plane just now. As someone who watched every episode of SCTV with my brothers back in middle school & early HS, John Candy always had a place in my heart. A very loving portrayal, brought back some great memories for me ❤️

Love coming home to my beautiful, non war-ravaged city!

Hey, one first-half point for every $1M Mike Gundy claims as the UO payroll 😂

Yeah, all of the successful people I know in wealth management send out random text messages like these, that’s how it works

Palau Clan Staycation day 4 - Beach Day!

Final activity of Palau clan staycation, day three: dinner at Golden Valley Brewery.

Because of this, I missed the Timbers match other than keeping a bit of an eye on it on my phone. The decision now is, do I watch the replay even though I know we lost? 🤔

Here’s another cool item in the archives: bones from the whale Sacagawea & the Lewis & Clark expedition discovered near Cannon Beach in 1805

More random highlights from the Oregon historical Society archives collection tour:

1. First ever trophy won by the Portland Timbers, in their 1975 inaugural season!

2. One of Darcelle XV’s dresses

3. Control panel from the Trojan nuclear power plant

It makes me want to go again to the Oregon Historical Society, and to become a member!

The large painting below is of part of the Pittock family, & hung in the mansion. And of course all Oregonians of a certain age will remember the California Raisins! 😂

Day 3 of the Palau Clan Staycation started w/a huge highlight:

Private tour of the Archives Collection of the Oregon Historical Society, in a top secret location which I will not divulge even under torture!

Many truly historic items cared for here, & rotated into public display downtown

7 years ago, apparently? Where does the time go? Also, I wish the Timbers still did that thing where you could hang out near the sidelines for the last 15 minutes of a match! 😂 #RCTID

Day 1 of Palau Clan Staycation:

Fishing in the am

Volleyball at our house in the evening. Great having almost everyone together!

Seems like it would make sense to lower ticket prices to get more people in the seats, but what do I know? #RCTID

Anyone want some genuine Diego Valeri log slab pieces that split years ago? We are clearing out the garage a bit. Seems a shame to turn them into firewood, given their provenance. 😂❤️ #RCTID

Is 4 goals in the first 47 minutes of a match good?
Meanwhile we wait patiently for our first #RCTID hat trick 🙏

Miami vs Palmeiras is the first Club World Cup match I’ve watched so far. Looks like I’ve picked a good one, at least as a fan of MLS looking decent against good competition

Dang it, so sorry I’m not only out of town, but I’m embarking on a red eye fight to Dallas shortly.

Oh we’ll, we’ll always have PAX PRIME
