I can’t remember the name, but there’s a graph that shows the increase of the rate of invention/new knowledge, & if it keeps increasing the way it did the last 100 years, I have to answer next hundred years. And that’s w/o favoriting for the climate crisis and the continued consumerism increase.

Oh no, it’s definitely an inherently demeaning term, it’s just also unfortunately common here in the states. It makes sense you would react that way!
