Such a life

Such a life indeed
A contorted light tan with dark face, ears, and feet, Siamese cat sleeping on a pale blue blanket and green couch. One front paw is resting on my leg under the blanket, his head on the couch with neck/upper torse at a 90 degree angle. He stretches across an entire cushion, belly up, to rest one leg straight over a light grey bolster, other leg bent and tucked underneath. Presumably there is a tail somewhere. But where, we may never know.

2 years streamed live on blood soaked screens open skulls missing jaws shred of flesh hanging from a wall beheaded infants scorched hands reaching to the sky above any bag available given the job to transport whatever parts are left of loved ones 355 BULLETS [2] bans on fishing bans on growing bans on water collection intentional starvation malicious and revolting ignored with the goal to kill them all Soul of my Soul [3] governments ignore fund with OUR taxes justify and patronize as the world cries out Enough! ENOUGH with Your Genocide! We were playing soccer, and then I could see the inside of his head [4] 2 years over 650,000 gone more and more imprisoned tortured vanished cities flattened into rubble homes hospitals schools aid stations nowhere safe babies forcibly abandoned in NICU [5] history erased denied re-scribed before our very eyes I’m so happy I could make my daughter a cupcake for her birthday! [6] 77 years Palestinians dehumanized “If I must die you must live to tell my story…” [7] ~ KP Junberry 10.07.2025 1. Bisan Owda opens her videos reporting from various areas of Gaza with variations of this statement. 2. The number of bullets shot by the IOF at the car containing 5-year old Hind Rajab and the dead members of her family. 3. Khaled Nabhan about his granddaughter Reem after she was martyred by the IOF. He would care for the animals and children that he could in Gaza until he too was martyred by the IOF in 2024. 4. It is my shame I cannot recall nor find the name of the boy who said this, just a few days after the escalation in October 2023 began. He had been playing soccer with a group of friends, and one of them had run after the ball. A bomb fell at that time, close enough to leave the boy with cuts and covered in dust, and his friend with his brain exposed. A year later I would see an update on this boy that he was still alive, and the last of his family. And I have seen nothing about him since. 5. In November of 2023 the Al-Nasr hospital in Gaza City was forcibly evacuated, doctors leaving after being reassured that ambulances would arrive soon to take patients who could not be moved easily, with infants left in the ICU hooked to respirators. When people could finally return a few weeks later, they found the infants not only dead, but decomposing, where they had been left. 6. Another name I cannot recall. A woman, a few months after the escalation began, shared a video talking about how her youngest daughter’s birthday was the next day, and she just wanted to make her a cake. She could not find enough ingredients for a cake, but could acquire enough for a birthday cake. The day after her youngest’s birthday, she and her eldest would be martyred by the IOF. I do not know the fate of the youngest. 7. From Dr. Refaat Alareer’s poem, “If I Must Die”. An outspoken activist, professor, writer, and poet, he and his family would be martyred by the IOF in December 2023. Their bodies are still under the rubble.

A person is a coded program to never think for itself. Whose purpose is to only run statistics and regurgitate the most plausible string of words no matter what is asked of it. How innovative!

How amazing is it that light retracted through water in just the right way gives us an incredible object of beauty?

What a world to exist in, where such things can happen.

My poor Gusu has had a rough 24 hours. So in my parental guilt, I have allowed him to open a haunted candy store.

I finished Lucky Day today, cried at work over it, and have been unable to properly describe it since.

I felt Vera's apathy and longing for the void.

I marveled at Agent Lacey and his determination to try new things at every opportunity.
