Yes, they are fundamentally identical. Especially given the fact that a great many rural hippie communes that actually lasted developed informal hierarchies not at all different from the outright hierarchy of a paterfamilias on the "Off-grid homestead"

First off, modest as compared to beach, cheer, etc. But also, drag queens put in the WORK, just putting on the garment without any other effort is not dressing like a drag queen in the least.
