Have just heard someone at the train station pronounce ‘Crewe’ as ‘Cru-wee’, and honestly, given what we often do to place names, I can’t blame them for looking at the word and assuming we must pronounce it in a completely unexpected way rather than just ‘crew’.

The snow hasn’t melted so much as frosted over. I have a cold and am tired and under a blanket. Elderberry and echinacea tea visibly steaming gently in the chilly sunshine is rather comforting.
