In my personal experience, it vastly reduces the amount of time it takes me to figure out how to do unfamiliar tasks, especially as googling for things becomes less and less productive. It's very good at providing overviews for "how do I X" type questions and naming tools I can then read up on.

Why wouldn't you want to use a tool that makes your job easier, though? Every new technology that did so has generally seen pretty rapid and widespread adoption.

But AI in this scenario doesn't just raise a single worker's productivity, it raises the whole company's. The subsequent increase in the company's stock price directly increases the value of the workers' shares.

I don't know about other tech companies, but at Amazon, at least, the annual bonus was issued in the form of company share RSUs, as was the company 401(k) match. Everything that was good for the company stock was also very directly good for my net worth.

I'm pretty sure that was already a thing in dating/raising sims before the rise of gacha. iM@s's Producer, etc. Wasn't one of the TokiMemo games famous for developing a syllable-based voice synthesis system specifically to avoid this?
