A star field with galaxy NGC 1961 (top right) in the constellation Camelopardalis ✨🔭
"NGC 1961, seen in the top-right of this star-studded field, is a spiral galaxy with notably distorted features. Despite these irregular, outer spiral arms, no companion galaxy or evidence of a recent merger (such as double nuclei) has been detected. The distortion suggests dynamic forces at play, yet the source of this disruption remains a mystery. The galaxy resides in the constellation Camelopardalis, with stars spread across the scene, adding to the cosmic wonder of this enigmatic system." #space #astrophotography
