Some weekend render testing! I’m using hybrid rendering with Sketch n Toon with some stereotypical PBR in the standard renderer. Going slightly insane as it needs some annoyingly precise light placement, otherwise the shadows and diffusion get REAL messy.

My current side project is messing with the new spatial image feature in ios26! It heavily uses lighting cues to decide depth so here’s a test I did in the middle of working on the painting!

I’ll make the wallpaper downloadable once it’s all finished :D

Got the main cast in a quick empty scene to test the lineart and shading! Quite pleased, and more recently I’ve finally been able to achieve this style consistently and WAY faster. Render times are down to 25 seconds per character!! #3dartist #3danimation #robots #scifi #rendering

Another post with Neph. She’s a bit of a gremlin and quite a bit smaller than the other characters, especially Tetsu! It’s been a lot of fun setting up visual tests for the rendering style and letting them be more in character!
