The branches turned to glass overnight, there's magic in the air.
Bare branches of a tree, one half of them in shade, the other in winter light,making them glass-like in appearance .

A poem: Later our salt and pepper cat has taken to sleeping on my desk chair I have taken to sitting by him watching the slow rise and fall of his barrelled chest kissing his hamburger -shaped nothing and laying my ear against his shaved tummy to hear his elderly rumble ( continued below) later in the garden my partner cups that soft old chin and sniffs the breath between his fangs savouring the stench i wish it were possible to package up his eau de poisson breath keep it in my pocket and save it for later ( continued below) later he wont be here only his salt and pepper shape on the fabric of my desk chair embedded never to be lint rolled Emmy Clarke
