I’ll trade you a kooky cookie for a ride in the Munster Koach. Living, LOLing, and heads-will-rolling. 🍪 🦇 🕷️ 🫖 🍰 🥀 😘 Mostly here to see and read about goofy, niche stuff.
Old laptops can run Linux like Linux Mint or Pop_OS!, etc. versions, replace the old lappy batteries for $14-30, and basically make than an offline media center that can also browse web/stream. I turned my Mom's old 2014 Windows 8.1 (!) gaming laptop into a media center that way.

Invest in aux cable (plus USB-C or Apple lightning-to-aux for most phones), a non-assistant Bluetooth speaker with no smart features, and refurb tech if you can find it. We have a 1995ish Sony boombox and it's tape/cd/radio and still STELLAR. Also emergency radio...music plus runs on solar/battery.

We use CD, vinyl, limited cassette tapes, iTunes w no Apple Music sub (though I also have and can use VLC), and Qobuz to stream. And never underestimate just listening to radio.

I also turned an old, unsupported iPhone into a music and video iPod, basically. Gotta prep those offline tunes.

And for anyone reading in the USA or Canada, go see whose land you live upon.

2/2 BC the current administration takes issue with recognizing Indigenous People, it is *technically* no longer "officially" celebrated Nationally and is again "Columbus Day". 🤨

US Thanksgiving is the 3rd Thu. of Nov. Happy Thanksgiving to 🇨🇦 and a meaningful ⭐️Indigenous Peoples' Day⭐️ to the 🇺🇸.

We have similar holidays, they are simply askew in date. Today was called "[Christopher] Columbus Day". Indigenous Peoples' Day was only formerly recognized in 2021 by U.S. President Biden. 1/2

...Afterthought:

Also noted these could be very well from a set like "Evil Dead" or something and I would have little idea bc I have few fandoms due to my nerdery being... niche. So sorry if they are like well-known toys or something. 😂
October 13, 2025 at 11:22 AM
So do you paint them as well or pose and photograph?

My spouse loves RPGs (not a fan myself, but I am supportive) but I love to paint and I want to get into painting nerd miniatures, which is why I ask. This is the kind of stuff I would do with toys vs go a'questing 🎲.

This is a fun pic. Love it.

I mean ppl can like whatev. In the before times, I spent actual, folding money 💵 on Vanilla Ice, Kid Rock, & Marilyn Manson CDs/concerts 💿, which both age me AND are Highly Problematic and/or just, you know, crap. So far be it from me to deny someone their iffy life choices 🤷🏻 here on TrashHole 🦋.
October 13, 2025 at 11:06 AM
People are being uncritical bc there are ppl mob-sicking followers on "haters" here. She's a billionaire celeb making...fair?, marketable music 🆚 a demigoddess beyond any ill repute. Yr post in Discover was 1st to make me 🤭 vs 🥴.

BlueSky def has its purposes but it's skewing "Trash Hole" lately.

Try buying a car (trackers, telemetry sold to insurances, video/sound/image) and buying a home and see what we really "own". The answer is: If we have to ask this question, we don't have the money to own anything outright any more 😬😬

Disclaimer: Stating the state of things ≠ my endorsement of it.

Control of you, control of market. Surveillance for Advertising ID tracking and govs.

However, on Win 11 install you can shift+f10 and run start ms-cxh: localonly. Should work in presently 2025.

Still TBD on APK/Android.
More may come up in the year it'll take to begin to roll out and enforce.

Sign up for the Paste mag (US) and Qobuz newsletter (France-based but in many languages w music worldwide) for details on new music. I flipped to Qobuz and I like it. Works on Android, iPhone, Linux, Mac, whatever. Big % to artists.
October 4, 2025 at 12:35 PM
Have you tried Qobuz? They import music and playlists with a little tool called Soundiiz they give you for free to switch. Moves your bands/ playlists and stuff over. Big % of money to artists by comparison. I appreciate their algorithm. There are YouTube how-tos. It's doable for slower learners. 😀

*Kiwix idea applies to a ton of other open-source items certain people/groups don't want certain other groups to maintain access to. It'll burn data gb if you're on a data-restricted plan, but if you're unlimited you're only limited by storage space. Example: Medline plus, repair guides, etc.
October 2, 2025 at 8:45 AM
1) Support with 💰 if you can
2) If you have an hour and spare storage space, why not download Wikipedia via Kiwix? They have various editions that searchable zip super-small. We can have Wikipedia stored in case of later fkery. They work w Wikipedia jointly to offer it/updates. Youtube has how-tos.
