I was upset at getting a B for a paper in a subject that is very much my field/interests & I was told by a prof that grades doesn't matter! They might make a very slight stronger case when you're applying to PhDs but even then it's almost entirely based on SOP + writing sample.

No! Don't worry too much. Grades matter more when you're solely relying on good college transcripts for PhDs/jobs.
