@reckless.bsky.social leaves @theverge.com's The Vergecast and day 1 we get the worst episode in its history... First 25 min they talked about feeling uncomfortable in the Samsung event, and not a single mention of the tech! I'm done... After 10+ years, this podcast is dead to me

People love blaming religion for all problems, but without it, civilization wouldn't exist. How else do you get millions of unrelated starving people to cooperate, not kill each other, and work toward a common goal? Religion was past surveillance, and worked! Today, we have CCTV and authoritarianism

This might be the article I’ve worked hardest on all year, because my trip to Mongolia was one of the most fascinating experiences of my life. I put my whole heart into writing it. Hope you enjoy this free Sunday read:

This is my unpolished and bold take: Trump’s massive tariffs just wrecked Japan and China; and the pressure might just throw them into each other’s arms.

The biggest failsafe for an anti-immigration party is that when their policies inevitably fail to revitalize the economy, they can just claim they weren’t allowed to be "tough enough" on immigrants

Is China just speedrunning Japan's economic rise and fall?

✅ Grew twice as fast in half the time
✅ Massive property bubble popped
✅ Shifted from imitator to innovator (EVs, tech)
✅ People now disillusioned with perpetual growth and focus on culture (Ne Zha 2 is awesome!)

If you're waiting for the real estate bubble to burst so you can finally afford to buy a home, remember this legendary quote from You Don't Mess with the Zohan: "They've been fighting for over 2000 years, how much longer can it be?"

If you’re curious about my thoughts on Nissan and Honda: Honda is a fighter, built to survive the Chinese EV wave. Nissan is a masterclass in everything wrong with traditional Japanese leadership. Honestly, the best thing from Nissan lately is this: youtu.be/iGbeZNqklic?...

With US giants like Boston Dynamics and China’s industrial rise, it’s easy to think Japan’s robotic dominance is over. Yet, Japan is still the world's largest robot maker, and as AI turns to robotics, could their moment finally be here? www.konichivalue.com/p/nvidias-ne...

How do we STILL fall for the same dumb cycle?! Every 20 years, it's: 'Oh, that developing country carmakers are a joke, they'll never compete!' Fast-forward 10 years: 'OMG, they’re killing us! Quick, government bailouts!' 🚨 How do these geniuses not see the obvious?

I'm so tired of debating hot-button politics like Is Trump too old? Is Elon wearing a diaper? or Are world leaders secretly pedophiles? What happened to real debates about tax, infrastructure, public transit, things that are measurable and actually make a difference in our lives?
