Yesterday on my way back to HK, I stopped in Coco Park in Shenzhen, and went to a small Hunan restaurant I wanted to try out. The waiter warned me that the noodle soup was spicy.

¿Cabron, crees que estoy aquí para comer la comida insípida? Bahaha.

The menu at the bottom of the last screen has the options to reverse the process, from ex-works to retail, so that I can get a better idea of the suitability of the pricing. This is exactly what I need for negotiations with clients – I will test it live at the end of the month in Malaysia.

Then it asks a few questions and provides me with a downwards price chain. From there on I can change the main figures, play around a little, until I have what I need/want.

I have a text file that holds the parameters for the country / place I am visiting. The code loads this at startup and prepares the calculations.

Marketing 101: you need a good display, and preferrably a gondola head. And know your market and the taste of the locals.

When I fully retire, I'll do some light science teaching, based on real-life projects.

Big pre-typhoon dinner yesterday. I was sick all day yesterday, but this made me right again. 😬
Xinjiang BBQ. Everything goes on to the gril: bread, veggies, mutton.

Working on a very small subset of the wubihua table (key sizes 1 to 3), lookup works beautifully. Looking up pzn ⺂⼃⼂ gets me 7 characters.

hanzi4IoT app update: the font is now created properly by
Xojo, and displayed properly on Sulfuroid's LoRa biz card. Input is halfway done: keys 1 to 5 are recognized, and send the proper code (h = 一, s = ⼁, z = ⼃, n = ⼂, p = ⺂).

Xojo parses the characters from the corpus, and if they're in the Wubihua table, produces a 16-pixel font, and adds it to the input system reference table (a header file for now).

It also produces a keyboard map for a visual reference. This image is converted back to a header file.

I have an Android app that does that (useful when I can't remember the pronunciation of a character). I am rebuilding something like this for IoT. With the help of Xojo of course. I have a Wubihua table, from an old project. And a corpus of the 3,500 most common characters.

Some people may be old enough to remember not-very-smart phones with keyboards. Chinese could be input with a system called Wubihua (五筆畫, the five strokes). With these five strokes, you could type in Chinese, albeit a bit painstakingly. For example, 一⼁⼁⼂一⼃⺂ gives you 芳.

Thinking of adding crop / resize to the application. Feature creep, here I come!
