I love Gooey and Keeby, but Bandee's made enough of a name for himself to be considered the 'Luigi/Tails' to Kirby's 'Mario/Sonic'.
Also, the Waddle Dees are the secondary mascot of the Kirby franchise. What better way to rep that than to have one of them be a main character?
