Carl Jung had an interesting model about the structure of our mind.

People have this compulsion of doing things wrong,, again & again.

•Like an individual who chooses wrong partners,, again & again

•Psychologists call this Repetitive Compulsion

An attempt to resolve the unresolved eg wishes, desires etc by recreating similiar dynamics

We all have aggressive tendencies,, greed, anger and a dark side.

We don't need to bury it.

We need to integrate them.

Mindfulness is a great weapon in the modern world where everyone seems distracted.

Living in the moment and reconnecting to nature.

The past is already gone,, forgive yourself for it.

The future has not yet happened,, now is the only time to make it happen.

• The Qualities shunned at school might be what the outside world needs.

Conformity while the outside world reward those who embrace their uniqueness.

obedience while the outside world reward those who bend away from the status quo. Humility instead of assertiveness

•Some of us were taught to shrink ourselves just to make others feel comfortable.

•In our quest to earn approval, we started performing & developing weak or no boundaries. But this came at a cost of authentic selves & own needs.

•Empathy start with thyself.

You were taught to shrink yourself to make others feel comfortable.

You neglected your needs.

You started performing.

But at a cost.

•Familiar Suffering has a strange comfort to our minds.

•You see one unable to leave an abusive relationship or draining job.

It's like the brain has a "Better the devil I know than the Angel I'm not aware of" slogan.

Psychologists Call it The Mere Exposure effect.

In the past I used to think escaping the matrix was all about.
=Quitting school
= Quitting jobs or whatever

• But I think there is no matrix outside there.

• It's inside us. It's about our beliefs.

• If it's an entity then it's our mind.

Most of our lives are run by demons running in the background!

Demons from the past! From our childhood!
That individual selecting wrong partners again & again.
The divorces!
The self sabotage.

Carl Jung ; "Until we make the unconscious concious, it will direct our lives & we shall call it fate"

This passion because it is so strong, must destroy in order to be contained within the limits of self-preservation.

Some of us were taught to shrink to keep others comfortable.

To earn approval, we learnt to make ourselves small.

We became the underdogs!
We never set boundaries!

But this come at a cost of our authentic selves!

Never shrink yourself to make others feel comfortable.

Some of the qualities shunned in school might be what the real world needs.

Carl Jung talked about The shadow. A reservoir for the qualities we disowned due society; Media, school, parents & even peers.

The outer world rewards; Authenticity, Individuation, Changing rules and Assertiveness.

We are sometimes attracted to partners who are bad to us because they offer an environment that may be familliar to what happened to us in childhood.

Our brains crave for the familiar even if it's predictable or safe.

Most people hate you when you start choosing yourself & prioritizing your needs.
Your authenticity threatens them.
They loved you with all your performance.
You were manipulatable!
A doormat.
You were a giver!
You were desperate!
You prioritized their needs over yours
And they loved it.

Kill the inner servant and awaken the inner ruler.

The inner servant;
•Waits for permission
•People pleases
•Has no or weak' boundaries
•Has no self-respect

The bad boy prrovides a chaotic environment that your nervous system is attracted to.

The good guy provides a peaceful environment that feels foreign.

Your nervous system is attracted to what is familiar even if unsafe.

Setting boundaries isn't about being a bad person.

It's about protecting yourself from bad persons.

Anna Freud, Sigmund Freud's daughter, once alleged that most victims sometimes start identifying themselves with their aggressors instead of hating them .

Sound ironic right?

Their opinions
Their beliefs
Their dreams.
